Power-Up With a Daily Multivitamin


Every day is the same, we are on the “go” from the minute our eyes open until well after the sun goes down. Living a hectic lifestyle can make for unbalanced and sometimes even skipped meals. If this is common for you, you may want to consider taking a multivitamin to keep your body on point.

Since being introduced to the American marketplace in the 1960’s, men, women and children have been chewing, swallowing and benefiting from these products. If there was no benefit to them, they would not have remained on the shelves for 60+ years!

We could talk benefits all day but here are three good reasons you should take a daily multivitamin:

  • Preventing Deficiencies and Diseases – In those who do not have a balanced diet like: Vegans, Vegetarians, and those consuming 1600 calories or less per day are at a high risk of developing vitamin deficiencies which can result in irreversible damage to the body over long periods of time. A lack of the proper amount of vitamins and minerals also leave you susceptible to many illnesses; acute and chronic. Prevention is the best cure.

  • Speed up Recuperation Time – After an illness, injury or surgical procedure, your body goes into overdrive, using all available resources to heal itself and get back to normal. Taking a multivitamin while recovering from any of the above has been shown to increase the recuperation rate in some people. Help your body along by taking a daily multivitamin to make sure it has everything it needs to make you strong again.

  • Mental Clarity – A study published in the “Nutrition Journal” in 2007 showed a positive result in mental clarity of those who regularly took a daily multivitamin. As we age, our brains become more susceptible to micronutrient deficiencies that can impair brain function. In participants over 75, multivitamins contributed to good mental clarity according to the study. A daily multivitamin now may prevent Alzheimer’s and other cognitive problems in the future.

These are only three of the many reasons that taking a multivitamin everyday could improve your life. Please be mindful to check with your doctor before starting a multivitamin regiment.
